No, its not illegal to take risk- if you're willing to pay up if things go wrong. Problem with the mortgage biz is that all these companies took ridiculous risks and now ALL US TAXPAYERS get to pay up for THEIR risks. Last I checked, robbery IS illegal- or at least, it should be!
