I decided this summer to hang our laundry. I've never done it because it took "time" - however we've saved on average on electric the past two months $52 per month. Now that is worth my time!

My Son found another student with the same degree major that was one section ahead of him. He would buy his used books from him for what the book store would rebuy them for. This saved tons of cash for example he paid $14 for a book the book store turned around and resold for $50.

Make some purchases at a local thrift store. I found an entire sheet set (pillowcase, top and bottom sheet) for $5 and a couple weeks later found a comforter. Consider using a blacket instead of a comforter for a bedspread.

If some required reading ask the professor if you can purchase it at a used bookstore or borrow from the library. Some I've had wanted us to read the translation they chose.
