Fantastic Freebies: Quaker Simple Harvest granola bar samples

As food makers try to re-create the 'Slow Food' movement, but in a package they can sell you for more than the sum of the parts, conventional brands are working to re-cast themselves as whole foods. Quaker's new "Simple Harvest" all-natural granola bars are obviously headed that direction, with a photograph of the flavor components on the front of each box; apple slice, cranberry, cinnamon stick, for instance.

See if Quaker is putting its granola bar where its fancy branding is. Get a free Quaker Simple Harvest granola bar sample simply by filling out an online form. Let us know if you think the bars are any good!

Every day, WalletPop will be bringing you information about a fantastic freebie. Like what you see? Check back tomorrow for more!

Fantastic Freebies: Birthday party kit

quaker granola bitesYour kids may not be hankering for oatmeal at their birthday parties, but Quaker has more to offer than just breakfast porridge. You can get a free birthday party kit by sending in UPC symbols from four boxes of treats -- either granola bars or bites. All the birthday party themes available share the theme of doing good -- finding loot at a pirate party and donating it to hospitalized children or a tea party where you make food for the homeless.

The kits contain a how-to guide, a t-shirt for the birthday celebrant and 10 "goodness" bags with wristbands, temporary tattoos and activitiy booklets. Age recommendation: 5 to 12.

Quaker also has a kids club and a moms club, and if you sign up, you can get free products, coupons and other information.
