Jewelry 50-70% off at Sears and Kmart

jewelrySales like this make me realize just how many people buy jewelry for Valentine's Day. Retailers know people are ready to buy bling, so they offer insane sales to land those dollars.

Now through Feb. 14, all sterling silver jewelry and fine jewelry at Sears and Kmart is 50-70 percent off.

Even if you don't buy anything you can enter Sears' "Runaway to Romance" sweepstakes. Two grand prize winners will win a three-night getaway to Napa Valley, Charleston, Austin or New York. If it was up to me I would definitely choose Napa.

The prize includes airfare, three nights hotel, and a $500 Am Ex gift card. Think of all the massages and wine tours you can buy with that. Wahoo!

You can enter the contest daily by filling out a form on this sweepstakes page. Eleven runners up will get $200 Sears gift cards. You'll need to share your name, e-mail, address, dob, gender, and phone number. Egads! That's a lot of info. Sweepstakes ends Feb. 15.

Denny's free breakfast, if you can stomach the line

Filed under: Food, Fantastic Freebies, Bargain Babe

Tuesday Feb. 9, is the day Denny's is offering free grandslam breakfasts from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. You might have seen the commercial announcing the freebie during the Superbowl when the Saints spanked the Colts.

Get to Denny's early or be prepared to wait! Last year when I walked by my local Denny's at about 10 a.m. the line was wrapped around the restaurant, stretching 40 people deep into the parking lot. Um, no thanks.

If you can stomach the line, the free Grand Slam breakfast includes four choices from this list: bacon strips, buttermilk biscuit, one chicken sausage patty, two egg whites, two eggs, English muffin, grits, hashbrowns, two wheat pancakes, oatmeal, two pancakes, or two sausage links. A free Grand Slam breakfast is also available on your birthday with identification.

Baskin-Robbins offers 99-cent scoop of ice cream

Baskin-Robbins ice cream bargainGet a second 4-ounce scoop of ice cream for just 99 cents at Baskin-Robbins in February when you buy a 4-ounce scoop at the regular price. You can chose whatever flavor you want, though the chain is promoting its flavor of the month - vanilla pomegranate frozen yogurt. It comes with yogurt-covered granola bits for crunch.

Sounds tasty, though I would test it first or order it as my small $.99 scoop. Find a Baskin- Robbins near you.

Thanks, Tina!

Free e-book for Kindle, iPhone, and more

Get a free electronic copy of "Talk of the Town" by Lisa Wingate from Amazon for a limited time. You can download the e-book to your Kindle, iPhone, iPod Touch, or PC using various Kindle software programs.

The e-book normally sells for $13, paperbacks are $5.60 and hardbacks are as much as $30. "Talk of the Town" is about a young TV star who returns to her hometown to give a reunion concert when everything goes awry. Light-hearted reading with lots of cliffhangers, according to reviews.

100 flowers for $20 through Friday

Get 100 blooms for $20 from ProFlowers when you click on the upper right corner of the site where it says "hear about us on radio or TV?" When the page comes up use coupon code ELLEN, which will bring you to a special deal page which has the following offers:
  • 100 blooms (25 stems) of Peruvian lilies for $20, including a glass vase.
  • The same flowers as above plus chocolates and a bear for $30.
  • 18 red roses in a glass vase for $30.
  • Many other flower packages and offers.
The promotion ends Friday, Feb. 5. Note, delivery is $5-$20 extra. When I last checked, delivery on Valentine's Day was $10, which is not bad.

I always like to check prices with a local florist. If you are out of town, Google "florist near "90036" or whatever zip code you want them sent to. Call two or three places to get a feel for local prices, which may be cheaper than online deals.

Thanks, Tina!

Kate Spade 20% off coupon

Kate Spade walletNow until Feb. 28, 2010, you can get 20 % off your entire KateSpade.com purchase with code DONTFRET. You have to spend $50 or more, but frankly, that ain't a problem with Kate Spade prices. You can --gasp -- combine this code with other promotions, so search around for other coupon codes.

The code works on sale and regular-priced handbags, shoes, clothes, accessories and more. If an item is on sale for 50% off or more, the sale is final. Shipping is free on all orders.

I spotted a beautiful ring with a bouquet of small red, pink, purple, and green stones for $87 (orig. $145, on sale for $109). A chic, burnt umber patent leather wallet with an embossed croc pattern is $126 (orig $225, on sale for $158).

Caveats: not valid in stores or outlets, or on previous purchases. One per person.

Thanks, Su May!
