More Black Friday sales: Free Lego Rock Band at Old Navy, deals at Lowes
Filed under: Shopping, Black Friday
With just a few weeks until the turkey hits the table, more ads are leaking out for Black Friday, including rumored deals from Old Navy and Lowes. In addition to Black Friday-only deals, Old Navy is celebrating with "Gobble Palooza" with deals starting on Thanksgiving Day at noon and continuing on Friday, when they open at 3:00 a.m.!There are many good deals on clothing at Old Navy for Black Friday, but in keeping with their Rock themed sale they will also have good deals on Roc kBand games. On Friday only, a $20 purchase will get you a Lego Rock Band Game for free (a $44 retail value). It isn't immediately clear if it is the full game or a demo, so you should check that out before heading out early Friday morning. That's not the only deal on Rock Band at Old Navy; if you purchase Rock Band 2 you can also get a free Rock Band guitar for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Wii, though quantities are very limited.
Black Friday deals at Old Navy on clothing include:
- $15 - Kids and Toddlers Frost-free Jackets
- All Jeans $15 for adults and $10 for kids
- $5 Performance fleece tops
- $5 graphic tees
- Also, more deals on Thanksgiving Day (including a $10 off coupon) and Saturday
Highlights from the Lowes Black Friday ad include:
- $29 Shop Vac
- Skil four-piece 18-volt tool combo kit for $59.99
- 6.5' pre-lit Christmas tree for $38
- Too many discounts to list on DeWalt, Black and Decker, Kobalt and other tools and accessories

Black Friday, Black Friday! It is ridiculous! People fighting over stuff! My daughter went last year to Walmart at 5:00 am to get the ultimate deal and to her surprise there were no terrific deals! She will never do that again. We are certainly forgetting what the Holidays are all about. The birth of Chirst!

Seriously? The birth of Christ? Are you a flippin' moron? Thanksgiving is a celebration of many things, but Christ is certainly not one of them. The first dinner in America. A moment of peace among settlers and Indians. A celebration by the Pilgrims because they survived life on this continent only with the help of the Indians and their farming skills. Seriously. You need to stop spewing Christ gargbage everytime you disagree with something.

The holidays BECAME about religion and did not start that way. Holidays began as festivals to celebrate the solstice. Do you HONESTLY think holidays would be based on God and Jesus Christ who taught to pay no attention to the things of this world and only focus on the afterlife? I am so sick and tired of people using the religion argument. Why is it you pick a few days out of the year to celebrate your religion instead of every day? Why can you not educate yourself?

I completely agree the holidays are all about Christ. My husband and I go shopping on Black Friday to get things we've been wanting for ourselves for a while. Not sure what Wal-Mart offers, however we went to Sears last year and got a GREAT deal on a tool box and some power tools my husband had his eyes on for a while. I found some boots I had looked at 2 weeks earlier for $100 bucks were marked down to $30 Black Friday so I was able to get black and brown for less than the price of one! The only thing that sucks is getting up at 3AM.

It is ridiculous how people act, but as far as the Christ, thing, He wasnt born on that day. Get to know your history. When we celebrate Christmas, we are celebrating another Gods birthday, Jesus's name was just added in there to get christians to celebrate it. Its in all the history books and world encyclopedias.I wonder how that makes God and Jesus feel?hhhmmm?

Very well said, Christmas is celebrating the god of retail money. Christmas is a clever way for retailers to make up for all profit for what they came up short for during the year. The way christmas shoppers act towards one another lacks the Christmas spirit and well as the human element. You are right I wonder how God and Jesus feel.

I do my black friday shopping on line and I don't pay for shipping at Walmart if you use site to store, but I do miss the crowds and getting up at 3a.m. I usually have to work every black friday and I am not able to get to the other stores. Many stores offer the same items on line. It's a great way to shop. My kids and grandkids don't care what you buy them, as long as the family gets together at Christmas. That is more valuable to us then the presents!

HAHA What people dont realize is that on black Friday there may be a couple good deals at different place and i stress COUPLE most of the other deals are either a little more then what the store pays for them. Then they jack the prices up on rest of their merchandise in October when people are running around for Halloween stuff. Thats why they set up crazy times for shopping hours like only on sale from 4 a.m. to 6 am so your still half a sleep and don't realize that just last month it was the same price as the special price now.

My daughter and I really enjoy this every year. Her spouse stays with the children and we carefully plan the order of our shopping. We make sure we have coffee, beanies on to hide the hair, and set out as early as necessary (3AM has been the norm the last few years). I have never had a bad experience with rudeness or aggressiveness and have gotten some great deals and consider it a mother daughter bonding.

From msnbc.com:
NEW YORK - After pushing steep discounts throughout November that are usually reserved for the day after Thanksgiving, retailers from Kohl's to Toys "R" Us are offering even bigger cuts and promotions for Black Friday in a frantic bid to pull in shoppers.
But the bargain hunters showing up for the early morning specials on toys and TVs are not expected to buy with the same gusto as a year ago, as they fret about tightening credit, massive layoffs and shrinking retirement funds.
Not to mention that consumers are already jaded by all those "60 percent off" signs plastered on storefronts. Analysts say shoppers may stick to smaller gifts like cosmetics rather than $1,000 flat-panel TVs in a holiday season expected to be the weakest in decades.
"Black Friday is going to have some very impressive deals, but overall the deals won't be any better than what you saw before," despite all the hype, said Dan de Grandpre, founder and editor-in-chief of dealnews.com. "Retailers have already given their best shots already."

Last year I got a front load washer and dryer from Sears both for a total of $598.00, not each but together. That is the BEST deal I have ever received on black Friday.
