Black Friday, Black Friday! It is ridiculous! People fighting over stuff! My daughter went last year to Walmart at 5:00 am to get the ultimate deal and to her surprise there were no terrific deals! She will never do that again. We are certainly forgetting what the Holidays are all about. The birth of Chirst!

I completely agree the holidays are all about Christ. My husband and I go shopping on Black Friday to get things we've been wanting for ourselves for a while. Not sure what Wal-Mart offers, however we went to Sears last year and got a GREAT deal on a tool box and some power tools my husband had his eyes on for a while. I found some boots I had looked at 2 weeks earlier for $100 bucks were marked down to $30 Black Friday so I was able to get black and brown for less than the price of one! The only thing that sucks is getting up at 3AM.

It is ridiculous how people act, but as far as the Christ, thing, He wasnt born on that day. Get to know your history. When we celebrate Christmas, we are celebrating another Gods birthday, Jesus's name was just added in there to get christians to celebrate it. Its in all the history books and world encyclopedias.I wonder how that makes God and Jesus feel?hhhmmm?

I do my black friday shopping on line and I don't pay for shipping at Walmart if you use site to store, but I do miss the crowds and getting up at 3a.m. I usually have to work every black friday and I am not able to get to the other stores. Many stores offer the same items on line. It's a great way to shop. My kids and grandkids don't care what you buy them, as long as the family gets together at Christmas. That is more valuable to us then the presents!

HAHA What people dont realize is that on black Friday there may be a couple good deals at different place and i stress COUPLE most of the other deals are either a little more then what the store pays for them. Then they jack the prices up on rest of their merchandise in October when people are running around for Halloween stuff. Thats why they set up crazy times for shopping hours like only on sale from 4 a.m. to 6 am so your still half a sleep and don't realize that just last month it was the same price as the special price now.

I work in retail and my birthday is on black friday this year. Happy birthday to me I get to get up at 3:30am to go to work. guess it bets my 21st bday on Thanksgiving.

My daughter and I really enjoy this every year. Her spouse stays with the children and we carefully plan the order of our shopping. We make sure we have coffee, beanies on to hide the hair, and set out as early as necessary (3AM has been the norm the last few years). I have never had a bad experience with rudeness or aggressiveness and have gotten some great deals and consider it a mother daughter bonding.

NEW YORK - After pushing steep discounts throughout November that are usually reserved for the day after Thanksgiving, retailers from Kohl's to Toys "R" Us are offering even bigger cuts and promotions for Black Friday in a frantic bid to pull in shoppers.

But the bargain hunters showing up for the early morning specials on toys and TVs are not expected to buy with the same gusto as a year ago, as they fret about tightening credit, massive layoffs and shrinking retirement funds.

Not to mention that consumers are already jaded by all those "60 percent off" signs plastered on storefronts. Analysts say shoppers may stick to smaller gifts like cosmetics rather than $1,000 flat-panel TVs in a holiday season expected to be the weakest in decades.

"Black Friday is going to have some very impressive deals, but overall the deals won't be any better than what you saw before," despite all the hype, said Dan de Grandpre, founder and editor-in-chief of dealnews.com. "Retailers have already given their best shots already."

every black friday i just go to clothing stores that arn't big name brands like boutiques n what not..they still have 50 percent off and have pretty cute clothes and the prices are great...trust that old navy n lowes n target or whatever know what theyre doing and people are trying to come up in the world...so u should know what ur doing too....sure im saving up cuz ijn new york there are gonna be some spiffy littlle gadgets at a great discount but thats gonna be planned out and executed CAUTIOUSLY remeber the freaking walmart or best buy last year!!! the poor worker died cuz they stampeded his ass.....so yeah maybe cuz its new york but i already kno about alot of great delas around here.....

Last year I got a front load washer and dryer from Sears both for a total of $598.00, not each but together. That is the BEST deal I have ever received on black Friday.

I wonder what the deals would be like if you didn't shop on black friday and went on maybe magenta monday or teal tuesday,or whatever colorful day other than that dirty ol' black friday.
