Free Shipping Day is back with more retailers!

Last year marked the start of a Hallmark holiday of sorts that quickly gained popularity with last-minute holiday shoppers; Free Shipping Day. On Free Shipping Day last year, more than 100,000 shoppers picked up Christmas gifts with free, guaranteed-in-time-for-Christmas shipping at more than 250 retailers including big names like Kohl's, JCPenney, Victoria's Secret and many more.Thanks to its first year success, Free Shipping Day is back for a second year and as founder Luke Knowles told WalletPop in a phone interview, "Free Shipping Day wants to join the ranks of Black Friday and Cyber Monday as an annual tradition."
Luke explained that last year Free Shipping Day came together in a matter of weeks and resulted in a huge interest from both retailers and shoppers. "Now, with a full year of planning for the event," Knowles said in a press release, "we expect to double the number of participating retailers."
This year, expect to see more than 500 retailers participate in what Knowles calls the "perfect shopping event for procrastinators." Free Shipping Day 2009 takes place on Dec. 17th and offers free shipping that's guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve day on orders placed Dec. 17th.
All participating retailers will be listed at FreeShippingDay.com and while encouraged to offer free shipping on any size purchase, retailers can choose to limit free shipping to purchases that are over a certain limit so pay attention to the details if you order.

I will never, EVER, purchase anything from target.com again.
I bought some clothes for my son last year. Afterwards, I found out that you can't return on-line purchases to the store. You have to send the purchases back to the on-line site, and wait FOREVER for the requested purchase.
Sorry...As much as I detest WalMart (and, God knows I do) I will have to stay loyal to them. If I order something on line and it doesn't fit, the store will return/replace it immediately.

I still prefer old, reliable K-Mart which does have better prices than the greatly, overhyped Wal-Mart.
K-Mart was here long before big, bully Wal-Mart arrived on the scene and started abusing their vendors and emplyees.

I personally am sick and tired of them harassing people at each and every door to the building and store!
I think they are rude and insulting.
I do not like being yelled at and having the door to the store blocked by them.
And what I dislike the most is when I go in and out of the store several times and get the same harassment and when I don't give every time I get the rude stares and faces and the nasty comments behind me as I pass by!!!
If they are not allowed to collect then it is their own fault/attitude that they have to blame!
Besides when people act like that it makes me wonder about their honesty in turning in ALL the money!!!

Wish they did it sooner than 1 week before Christmas... They may ship it out but that doesn't mean the postal service will actually get it to you in time to put under the tree.

I understand the apprehension, but, they are supposed to use shipping methods that makes sure it gets there. I wonder if the USPS or UPS failed for any FSD customer last year.

FYI - Target does indeed allow the return of items purchased online to any Target store. I have done it more than once, and it's all automated. Very easy and smooth.
