Filed under: Bargains, Shopping, Black Friday
Another day, another Black Friday ad leaked and viewable online for your Black Friday planning pleasure. This time Kmart's 40 page Black Friday ad has leaked, revealing exactly which toys, electronics and other goods will be getting special Black Friday pricing.
Invoking their famous Blue Light Specials, Kmart is celebrating the day of shopping with "Blue Friday" deals from 6-11 a.m.

As expected there are many deals on toys and video games this year. Here are some of the deals Kmart is offering:
- $20 off of popular video games for the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 including, Brutal Legend, Left for Dead 2, Dragon Age, Forza Motorsport 3 and more.
- $169.99 for a Nintendo DSI with five games
- 50% off Handy Manny fix-it motorcycle
- $379.99 for a 32-inch Sony Bravia 720P LCD HDTV
- $84.99 for a Magellan Roadmate GPS
- Buy-two-get-one free on all Lego sets
I wouldn't be surprised to see cheaper HDTVs and GPS units at other retailers. You should also avoid the Windows CE netbook that is being sold at Kmart on Black Friday because it runs a version of windows designed for phones and isn't compatible with many programs you expect a netbook to run. You're better off buying a netbook running a newer operating system like Windows XP or Windows 7 which will be on sale from other retailers at similar prices, like Office Max, on Black Friday.
Still, in all, Kmart looks to have a pretty good selection of deals and several not to be missed discounts on toys and video games.

I can't think of anything I would rather do less than shopping the day after Thanksgiving. It is usually cold and I am still stuffed from being a piggy they day before. And the stores are pure chaos.
I can't wait to get a bargain, but you can get the same deals online. I love being a "frugalista". I just found out that the lingerie under the Gilligan and O'Malley name at Target is actually made by Victoria Secrets...and so much cheaper!
Target is also great for fashion and funky home stuff that looks like it cost a lot more, as well as for great everyday staples.
I shop at all my favorite stores through an online website fatcrumbs http://www.fatcrumbs.com that gives me the unpublished discount codes and or free shipping at about 700 stores (including Target, Walmart, Best BuyThe Gap, Best Buy, Old Navy, Drugstore.com, etc) as well as giving me between 5 and 50% back in cash on my purchases. And I can shop from the warmth of my own house in my pj's!

Maybe you should get an exercise machine. Not that you piggies would ever use one, but they make nice clothes racks.

REgarding your recommendation of passing on the computers equipped with the phone-based OS. You should warn readers that they should not accept only the Windows 7 OS. Windows XP has not been maintained by Microsoft for at least a year, and their "newer" VISTA OS was still-born, when it comes to maintenance. It was only about a year after Vista was released, that it was supplanted by the general availability of Windows 7. Windows 7 is the only OS currently being maintained by Microsoft. I have already received the cryptic "This OS is no longer being supported by Microsoft" response, after downloding dumps from XP and VISTA crashes. (The same result from crashes of my expensive Windows Office 97 products.)
In addition, even after the release of Windows 7, last year, the notebook manufacturers were providing free only the still-buggy, but already obsolete VISTA OS, and charging $270+tax for the unsupported, but at least well-tested XP OS. I got stuck with the awful Vista Home Basic OS on my new Dell notebook last December. Echhh!

have you tried updating EVERYTHING? don't know (of course) whats going on with yours, but mine just crashed. I put the original XP back in it (from2004!) and did update after update. Including 1 and 2 service packs. No problems whatsoever.
PEOPLE, PLEASE, REPORT all these idiots that are putting misc. ads on our comments section !! If we all do this regularly if will put a quick end to the life of these morons ADS. Let them BUY advertising like I do!!

I agree with the article to avoid windows CE on netbooks, but I'm not sure where johnfbeerman gets his information. Windows Vista is still being supported by microsoft and will continue to be for some time. I do however agree with him that if you were to see a Vista netbook to steer clear anyway.
If you must have a windows netbook then go for XP or 7. If you're willing to give a linux based OS a shot then that's definitely the way to go.

I'm not really into the whole Black Friday thing but I do need a new TV.
Does anyone know if these deals are in-store only or can we get these prices when online too?
Thanks!

I am a bargain shopper too, but you are not going to catch me in any stores on Black Friday. I have bought all the women in my life gifts from Avon ever year...and they all love it! I make up great baskets or just give a few items. They have so many great items for stocking stuffers too that are $2 - $3 that look like they cost so much more! Great smelling lotions, gift items, lip balms, clothing!
Avon's Anew anti aging line is the greatest insider secret. For myself I love their newest anti-aging product. It is called Anew Reversalist Renewal Serum. The product is insanely good and much much cheaper than dermatologist brands that don't work anywhere nearly as well. This serum actually helps reverse wrinkles and made my skin feel tighter and look younger. I am a huge fan of expensive serums, but this product is better than anything I ever got at my dr's. I also love avon 14 karat lipsticks that have actual gold fleck and are very creamy. I always buy at http://www.everydayfabulous.com where there are always, discounts, coupon codes and/or free shipping.

I never shop on Black Friday and I always manage to find bargains. Mostly the leftover stuff you hard core shoppers did not buy that day.

BEWARE!!! Do not purchase a Dell notebook! I purchased one when they first came out. It's been sent to Dell twice to reinstall the OS after spending untold hours on the phone with their techs (some of which I couldn't understand). It would have been fine IF the netbook had a disc drive. I was even instructed to do this by a SUPERVISOR. I ended the last telephone conversation with suggesting they nail a netbook and a notebook on the wall so their techs could see the difference between the two.
Want better customer service? Do what I did. Go to the Dell website and click on Investor Relations and find someone to email and express your concerns. You will find your get superior customer service when someone from Investor Relations intercedes. This works for just about every large corporation. Sometimes you can find a link to a member of their Board of Directors. Go straight to the top of the food chain. It works.

Just be careful of Walmart - deals are awesome, but someone may trample, stab or shoot you if you don't move fast enough! Happened not too far from me last year! That said, I can't wait for the 27th, became a tradition to go out every year with my favorite aunt :)

"Black Friday" would denote something to do with death or plague, etc. A better name should have been chosen. Like "shop at your own risk day," or "come catch swine flu day."

Black friday means some poor worker is going to get trampled to death so a few people can save some loot. last year the crowd couldn't understand why they needed to shut it down after somebody died. that's the christmas spirit!
