Black Friday seems to be coming early this year. Just in time for the 2009 holiday shopping season, Wal-Mart announced today that its lowering prices on more than 100 toys.

This week, Wal-Mart stores will roll back prices by as much as 20% to 30% on many kid favorites, including Star Wars light sabers and Bakugan starter packs. The price cuts are expected to last through Christmas and are also available online at Walmart.com.

This latest round of rollbacks is in addition to the retailer's previous promotion, advertising 100 toys for $10 and its direct shot at Amazon.com when it started offering 10 hot new books for $10.

Wal-Mart says the most recent rollback is aimed at attracting moms, the member of the family who is most likely to shop for holiday gifts. Moms also tend to shop early, the store says. Based on Wal-Mart's research, more than 50% of moms try to have their holiday shopping done before Thanksgiving.

"We'll offer aggressive pricing on toys this season to ensure moms can afford the gifts that help create a holiday their kids will remember," said Laura Phillips, vice president of toys at Wal-Mart. "We believe moms are looking for toys that not only fulfill their children's holiday wishes, but also create opportunities for role play, pretend and family togetherness."

Some of the toys getting a hefty price tag make-over are:
