Just in time to kick off your holiday shopping comes the ultimate gift for the teenage Republican on your list: an Xbox 360 video game console signed by former U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. And the cost? Oh, just a paltry $1 million and change.

Seller David Morrill has listed the item on online auction site eBay, hoping to get interested buyers to pony up at least $1.1 million for the item. According to the description on the site, the video game console was signed by Palin on July 24 in Wasilla, Alaska, two days before she resigned as the state's governor.

So what makes this Xbox 360 worth so much more than the average retail price of $399? "You can own this 60GB, perfect-condition, one-of-a-kind item before her expected run for president of the United States of America in 2012," Morrill wrote on the item listing. Morrill didn't immediately respond to an e-mail request for comment from WalletPop.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the item had no bidders as of Wednesday morning. Still, there are eight days remaining in the auction.

The item had been previously de-listed by eBay twice, Morrill wrote on the listing description, for reasons including an insufficient description or photo of the console.

Morrill might be onto something with his choice of autographed item: almost one-third of consumers have plans to buy an Xbox, Wii or PlayStation3 video game console before the end of 2009, according to PriceGrabber.com, a comparison shopping site. And Xbox 360 consoles are tied with Wii for percentage of traffic share on the site, PriceGrabber.com said.

Still, if $1.1 million is too doggone rich for your tastes, there are lower-priced items adorned with Palin's signature for sale on eBay. If you can stomach losing the cachet of buying one of the hot holiday products with her John Hancock, there's always the more traditional autographed Time magazine. And it's a relative bargain at just $199.99.
