Could you use an extra thousand bucks to store away for a rainy day?Get out of debt guru Dave Ramsey is giving away one $999 emergency fund every day from now through September 17th.
Just fill out this form to register.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Mr. Ramsey's teachings, his program helps people get out of debt by following a series of baby steps.
Baby step number one? Establishing a $1,000 emergency fund so that you can hack away at your debt and have enough in savings to deal with an emergency car repair or hot water heater meltdown.
If you don't have a $1,000 emergency fund, you should get on that immediately -- and Dave Ramsey's contest just might help you get there.

My younger sister moved to Plattsmouth, now, she could "really" use $999.99, to move back to Omaha ! We are both on "fixed" incomes. & it would be "great" living in the same complex, for both of us. ( As you may tell, we are both on S.S.D.) We've both worked all our lives, have put in our "quarters", & she gets the sume of $36.oo, a month in an EBT card ! & a "very" low S.S.D. check ! Thanks for listening.

I sure can use the $999.99 for a small kitchen make-over. I would love to start with redoing my kitchen cabinets and perhaps a ceramic tile kitchen top. Sounds wonderful! I hope I win!!

The idea is not to give you money to blow, but to have money on hand for emergencys so you don't have to make a poor money desicisions in a pinch that will push you deeper in debt- charging something on a credit card for example. It is unbeliveable the sucess that Dave's had from just teaching common sense & delayed gratification

I think you miss the point of the "EMERGENCY" in emergency fund. Do you really think a small kitchen makeover is an emergency? WOW!! Emergencies should be car repairs so you can make it to work and home, an unexpected dental or medical expense things like that. Honestly, a small kitchen remodel or new tv/ entertainment center etc would that constitute an "Emergency"?

My wife and I found Dave's "Total Money Makeover" class very helpful. He pulls no punches regarding senseless spending habits and pitfalls of incurring excessive debt. Take the 13-week class if you can!

Well this is great, except sending a text!. I find the cable phone set up to be cheaper for me. The pay as you go, do not work in all areas, at this time. Thus It looks to me like the only thing PC senders get to enter is his mailing list! :( Being on S.S. I scrape and squeeze just to get $1000.00 together for heating oil. Then have to keep the temp. so low I feel frozen, just to make the oil stretch the season. I would be happy with just $1000.00. I'd have a base to add to and replace my furnace that I have to repair myself every year just to keep it going. Nothing like 20 degrees outside and I have no heat AT ALL because I have it torn apart looking for what's wrong this time! Four days later I have it running ... for a month or two :( Don't be old and poor. Move in with the kids and enjoy life :) Wish I could :)

THIS IS FOR AN EMERGENCY FUND PEOPLE! Not to play with or get your son out of debt. Let im learn his lesson and PAY IT BACK>>> is anyone looking for a money makeover and all it entails or just a quick fix to end up back in the same position? Think a little bit and get a revelation.

Um Laura - I just cant help but to comment - since your priority is your kitchen, you must have no debt, own your home, and have a savings account - that has money in it. Therefore you do not qualify for the contest since the money is for an EMERGNECY FUND....TAKING THEMONEY AND USINGIT FOR YOUR KITCHEN WOULD BE THE SAME AS STEALING. Do everyone hera who have a plan and goals a favor and dont enter again. People like you need to get the light on upstairs.

I would like to enter the $999 emergency fund but was unable to find the form.I'm on ssdi ,medi-cal does not supply the medication I would need to try an alternitive treatment for my condition.I would need to see a private Dr, but don't have the funds.Without the alternitive treatment ,it would require that I have more surgery. I have suffered with this genetic condition since I was 31yrs old I'm now 44.I have already had to have surgery 6 times just in 1997 alone,It was a nightmare that year.So please, can you pick me for your emergency fund and help me try and hold onto the little bit of independents I have by choosing me . Thanks
