Kolcraft is recalling 1 million play yards sold over the past decade after nearly 350 reports of the sides collapsing. At least 21 injuries were reported before the recall was initiated, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The locks that hold up the sides of the play yards can fail, causing an unexpected collapse that could cause a child to fall. At least one of the reported injuries was a concussion, the CPSC said. Consumers are being asked to stop using the play yards immediately.

Many of the units involved in this recall were already recalled in 2007 after a child strangled in one of the Chinese-made.play yards. All the play yards in that recall had a changing table. The 10-month-old strangled on a restraining strap in a "Sesame Beginnings" model. A total of 45 incidents preceded that recall.

The current recall involves Kolcraft Travelin' Tot play yards as well as those sold under the following brands: Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear and Eric Carle. The play yards were sold nationwide between 2000 and January 2009 at major retailers including Babies R Us, Target and Wal-Mart. They were manufactured in China, Spain and Italy.

Model numbers of the recall play yards can be found on a white tag on one of the feet. Some of the products came with a bassinet and/or changing table, vibrating unit with music player or parent organizer. A full list of the recalled models can be found here.
