Every day, except weekends, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission seems to send out a new recall, and so I hardly notice them any more. But this one stood out, in part because it came to my emailbox, past 10 p.m., an unusual occurrence for the CPSC.

Step2 Play Up Gym play sets, sold exclusively at Toys "R" Us are being recalled due to a fall hazard. The swings can break. Well, actually, the hangers on the swings can break.

There are some triangular hangers that attach the swing's ropes to the upper rail of the play set, and there have been 17 instances of the hangers breaking. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Still, why take that risk? So if you think you have one of these play sets, which has a platform, a climber, a slide area and two swings, check to see if the model number is 797300. If it is, call Step2 to get a set of replacement hangers and instructions. Step2's number is 1-800-347-8372, and you can call between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. Or visit its web site.

Interestingly enough, given all the problems manufacturers have had with toys made in China, guess where the hangers were made? Meanwhile, according to the CPSC, the rest of the play set was manufactured in America.
