Using Oprah to sell a scam! What's next?

Just when it looked as though scammers couldn't get any lower, the FBI pointed out that yes, indeed, they can. These email banditos have pretended to be from banks, Ebay and even posed as the head of the FBI himself. But now they're using Oprah's good name to try to take your money. For shame.The FBI issued a warning that the Internet Crime Complaint Center has been collecting complaints about some very bad person(s) sending out emails telling them that they have been nominated for the "Oprah Millionaire Contest Show." They're asked for some limited personal information. That's just the hook.
The only potential millionaires in this one are the identity thieves phishing for your personal information. Try to avoid giving it to them or "Oprah."
If you do get the above-described email, let the FBI know on the IC3's complaint page.
Actually, this isn't the first time someone tried to parlay Oprah's goodness into ill-gotten gains. She was cited as endorsing a pyramid scheme a year or so ago. And in 2006 a very similar Oprah-based phishing attack was launched.

No problem here either. I would not ever, ever go to see her, be on her show, or anything else Oprah. This woman's ego is so inflated and I just don't understand peoples' Oprah Worship. Come on people, she's just like any other person, she's not God. Every time I see her in magazines, photos, in fact, just saying her name makes me gag. I would never ever wish her any harm. She is just like any other woman.

People really need to be smarter-if someone was inviting you to go somewhere, wouldn't they pay for your ticket to Chicago? People need to wise up-everyone is broke, everyone needs a lift, but getting a crazy e-mail isn't going to solve problems. Don't give these bastards your hard earned money.

I don't watch Oprah... I'm not even a fan, but from what I know of her, she's done very well for herself by working hard which I imagine you must have brains to be able to accomplish. No looks? I don't think she's ugly. She's an attractive woman. No, she's not super model thin, but is that the only thing that passes as beauty? How about all the good she's done for people in need? What about all the families she's helped?
Honestly, it shocks me that there are people like you out there who have to tear down a good person. Pathetic.
