NBA tickets for $1

There's about a month left in the NBA season, and now looks like the best time to buy a cheap ticket -- some for as low as $1 -- according to a Sports Illustrated article.

Fans reselling recent home game tickets for the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons were selling them for as little as a buck. A quick check of StubHub, the league's authorized online ticket reseller, found Pistons tickets as cheap as $1 or $2.

"The secondary market is almost like a five-and-dime store now," Sean Pate, a spokesman for StubHub, told Sports Illustrated.

The average NBA ticket on StubHub this season is $6 cheaper (at $73) than it was last season.

Teams are deeply discounting tickets as a way to get fans to games, with the Pistons offering a Ladies' Night deal for $59 that includes two upper-level tickets, $16 in concession coupons, two martini glasses and a meet and greet with a player. Men get the same deal but with pint glasses and a team dancer.

The NBA slogan, "I love this game!" takes on new meaning for cheapskates.
