Starbucks to cut back on decaf
To save money, Starbucks will stop brewing decaf after 12 p.m in an aggressive effort to save $400 million by September and cut back on product expenses and labor.
" For many of our stores, the demand for decaf is greatly reduced in the afternoon," the company said in a statement, according to Bloomberg. "With our current standard of continually brewing decaf after 12 p.m. regardless of demand, we have seen a high amount of waste."
Customers can still request a cup of decaf after the noon cut-off time. Brewing a fresh cup of coffee takes four minutes, according to company spokeswoman Bridget Baker
Baristas will also be brewing less coffee every thirty-minutes to cut back on waste and will be using less milk in lattes and cappuccinos.
The Seattle-based company will also be closing more stores in the U.S. and in Australia.

Why not just raise the price of a cup of coffee from $10 to $15?

How about getting rid of the $2 baked goods? A little brownie costs $2? Know think about why your company is going out of business when your competitors are baggin away. I still love Starbuck's coffee over DD, not to mention that everyone at the Starbuck's in my area speak English and polite. A sincere "thank you" goes a long way.

Ya know really..... when is this all going to stop. Now we are messing with people's coffee. Not a good thing. I have been a customer of Starbucks for years, and to cut back on the milk in the Latte' is plain wrong. It's supposed to have more milk than any other barrista drink, other than a hot cocoa or a cup of milk. You start doing that just to save a buck SHAME ON YOU! Loose all your customers while you're at it.

I agree! When you pay that kind of money for a 'high-end coffee drink you dont want it scrimped upon. Ill be heading to Mickey D's as soon as their employees learn how to make the new coffee selections. Isnt there a manual or somerhing, guys?

STARBUCKS COFFEE HAS A BITTER AND BURNED TASTE.
I USED TO DRINK A LOT OF COFFEE IN MY EARLIER YEARS, AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT STARBUCKS IS BY FAR THE WORST COFFEE THAT I EVER DRANK.
I JUST FEEL SORRY FOR THE EMPLOYEES THAT WILL LOOSE THEIR JOBS BECAUSE THE COMPANY STRESSES THE "EXPERIENCE" RATHER THAN A QUALITY PRODUCT

Well see, that's the reason there are a lot of different coffees: not everyone enjoys the same kind. I do not care for dark roast, though many people love it. And you might have noticed that Starbucks coffees are pretty well liked. So many complain about the high cost but a cup of good coffee at starbucks costs the same or less ($1.60) as at a restaurant. Of course you usually get free refills at a restaurant, so if that's what you want go there. Personally I really enjoy getting coffee at Starbucks and so does my husband. It's a nice experience and the employees are helpful and polite. I recently ordered the wrong thing and realized it as soon as the barista handed it to me. She saw my dismay and replaced it with what I really wanted at no charge. So let the commedians continue with their jokes and others with less excuse complain, we'll keep going there and I suspect so will most people.

Now you Glen, are a real asshat. Anyone who "used to drink" a lot of coffee is not a coffee drinker. So your comments are moot. Go sit in the corner and play with those blocks while mommie and daddy talk. Go on, move young man!

They will still brew you decaf. Read the article. It will be brewed fresh instead of sitting in a pot all day.
