Here's a contest that's short but sweet: Dollar General launched its "Fresh Start New Year" Sweepstakes on January 1st. The idea is to help you pay off some of those bills you accumulated in 2008. There is one Grand Prize of $100,000 in cash that you could use to pay off your mortgage or at least pay a big chunk down on it. One first prize of $20,000 cash will be awarded so you can finally buy that new car you've been needing.

Got credit card debt? Who doesn't?There are four second prizes of $5,000 cash each to help you get rid of it. Eight third prizes of 2,400 cash could help to pay for heating the house this year and 500 people will be awarded a $50 Dollar General Gift card for "what you need." There's nothing in the rules that says you have to spend your winnings on the house or a new car but, wouldn't it be nice?

Check out the official rules and here's hoping, 'cause mama needs a new car!
