Best Buy announces Daily Deals, confirms Black Friday ad!
Filed under: Shopping, Technology, Black Friday
Don't miss our Liveblog, all day November 28!This morning, Best Buy confirmed the doorbusters WalletPop covered in our last Black Friday roundup and also announced a new "Daily Deal" promotion that kicks off on December 7th. The doorbuster confirmation comes on top of the numerous deals which are already live on Best Buy's website and adds; a 50" Plasma HDTV for $899, Wii games for $9.99 and many other deals starting at 5 AM on Black Friday.
Best Buy will also be offering many of their Black Friday deals online starting at 2 AM EST on Friday as well as participating in Cyber Monday on December 1st; but the real treat is that they will be serving up a new deal, every day, from December 7th through the 18th! On each of these days, Best Buy will offer one deal of "excellent value" at BestBuy.com until it is sold out. Best Buy hasn't revealed what these items will be, but it is likely that these sales will involve deep discounts and low quantities so be ready to click, click click!
One deal per day promotions aren't new; Woot.com is a popular online retailer that offers up anything from exercise bikes to "bags of crap" one day at a time and Amazon will again be running a "Ridiculous Deals" promotion with steep discounts on a limited number of items from November 28th through December 4th. Best Buy, however, is one of the first traditional retailers to embrace this new sales method and is expected to come out swinging with low prices for the 11 day event.
Be sure to stay abreast of the latest Black Friday news by checking on WalletPop's Black Friday Deals page early and often!

If you buy something from Best Buy, better make sure you like it. 15% restocking fee on returns and if the item costs more than $250, you have to wait to get a check from corporate headquarters. I won't buy anything there.

LOL!! Not a problem returning at walmart since they will not have in stock for you to return in the first place, assuming of course you do not get trampled

I reread the article again. Stores are trying to get rid of the plasmas way more than the LCD televisions, so of course they're gonna slash the cost on something that doesn't sell. The stuff that actually flies off the shelves is the stuff we all want but can't find. The stuff we all buy is the stuff that is also never on sale. Ever see Ferrari or Aston Martin advertise a closeout? Hey, SALE ON MUSTANG COBRAS!! Never happens. I rest my case.

How about save a lot of aggravation by just buying this junk the rest of the year? The Wii sucks for the most part, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The games are horrible except for a mere few (that won't be on sale). They'll be selling Wii games that nobody wants even for ten bucks. I own all 3 systems, so I know what I'm talking about. The other stuff they have on sale is really nothing but low end HDTVs anyway. If they has a 50-inch Sony or Samsung, then we'd be talking; but we're not.

Could you tell me what you mean by "all three systems"? I am considering buying a gaming system for my husband, and I wonder if you mean three different Wii systems, or three different brand gaming systems.... thanks

jokes comment is no JOKE. We got ripped off by Best Buy on
a 46 inch plasma that went bad 2 months after the factory warranty had expired but the best buy warranty was supposed
to replace a exact replacement. The store manager in Carmel
Indiana lied to me and said he was replacing with a better model. New one didn't have the same features and was a lesser model. Wrote to the corporate office and never got a reply. Won't ever go into a best buy store again. Thats just one of the poor service stories I have about best buy.

I'm with you on this. First LCD went out within months and BB wanted to replace it with a lesser model. I ended up spending some of my $$ to get the same features again. Then that tv had problems. Wouldnt honor the extended warranty that states a replacement if same problem 3 times. A year later, no new tv and they just want to keep "fixing" this one over and over(5 times already). Never will buy at Best Buy again!!!!

This is just not true, I returned a $500 laptop there a few weeks ago, there was no charge or fee, and I got cash back immediately.
The whole process took about 10 minutes.

These stores are leaking these deals on purpose to entice more buyers in to their stores. This is a publicity gimic to drive up sales. 75 percent of America is going to curtail buying this holiday season putting shear panic into retailers. This Black Friday is going to go down in history as Bloody Friday. This is where we shake out the retailers who will not last through next year. The recession is here. The DEPRESSION begins soon after.

Jason Lee Nedbalek,
To say that the Wii sucks is very naive. There are plenty of cool games that I guess you haven't tried. I have played all of the systems too and could be considered a gamer, but the X-box 360 and the PS3 both are the same old, same old for controllers and besides better resolution and better online gaming than their predecessors there haven't been any remarkable differences from a gaming standpoint. The wii does that too and you can play MANY games with multiple people on the same system online at the same time. You tell me which is cooler. Tiger Woods on the PS3 or Xbox or the wii? No question. I have plenty of friends who bought the PS3 and Xbox and now are buying the wii because they tried games like Mariokart. What I am trying to say is don't knock the whole system just because bestbuy is selling some of the games for cheap. Not everyone is a video game snob.
