Quit Complaining about Oprah, first you people complain that she spends to much and you can't afford the items on her favorite list! Now you complain when she buys things you can afford! It's just no pleasing you guys! If you ask me, (who cares if you didn't) she spends to much of her time catering to ungrateful people! She doesn't have to give away anything!

Since so many of us have less money to spend this holiday season, does it not make sense to show gifts that the average person can afford? It is better for the advertisers/suppliers of the products to show things that we can actually buy. It is a smart move, and Oprah is a smart business woman. Oprah had Obama on her show as an author when his book came out and BEFORE he announced his candidacy. All you Oprah haters, can not convince me that is she showed on your doorstep with an expensive gift that you would turn it down. In past years, audience members for her Favorite Things episode left with thousands of dollars worth of gifts, regardless who paid for it, the audience didn't - they got in for free and walked away with truckloads of gifts. Get over yourselves, already.

Has Oprah made a payment on your mortgage, or anyone elses mortgage that you know? Yeah, I thought not.

Who the hell are you? I know that your opinion may matter to you but i can't see where Ms.O has screwed anyone.. Can you show me where this is at.. all the woman has done is give and give and give more and more, she is trying to make things better for everyone but its people like you that make everything into a racsual issue. Ms.O to me seems to be a very giving and loving person who lives life to the fullest, and you sit there and write stuff like that ,I can't understand why NEGAITIVEpeople have to be around when they act stupid like this, your attitude is what makes the world ugly. She worked hard for her money. If more Americans had the ambition and determination that she has this country wouldn't be in the position that it is in. Get off your lazy butts and get a job.

This is a shame and shameful of Oprah, she is the richest woman in the world, She probally didn't pay for the gifts, but she could have afforded them, it's all greed, She helped Obama in ways, i am sure we will never find out.She was'nt for the best man for the job, for Pres Elect, she was for the color of his skin, she proved that, by making such a big deal of it, (afterwards of course).Believe me she will loose none of her money, Obama will see to that, And it's people like her,and the other rich, who should be footing the bill, Thats needed in our country. one person should not have so much money,And be proud of it,Just because they made a movie, are put a ball in a hoop, or sang a song,She has so many homes she just pays labor to keep them going,she probally hasn't, been to most of them in years.. I use to like oprah, Now i turn the channel when she comes on. you would think she would remember when she was poor, It hasn't changed, i am not racist, But i am a single white woman, who barely gets buy in life, I had a good job once, I was a firefighter in chemical plant in houston, let go because of ptss,Now i was just a liabity to them, Because i was burned at 4.never ask anythig of anyone, exspessly men, i want to do it on my own, I was stripped of the job i thought i would retire at, for becoming a risk, instead of giving help, that i gave my life to.... So did Ellen she use to be so funny, now that she has money, greed took over, All she talks about is herself, I think all the rich should stand up and help our country, Not bask in it, and wounder which house or vacation is on there mind to go to, stop giving so little to charitys, To make yourself look good and help our folks get back on their feet, Yes i am upset with Oprah, but there is so many other who could help, its just pocket change to them, or a write off, Oprah why don't you do a survey of the poor that can still be helped, get all your rich friends, and help those people, in OUR country that could once again be proud, become more, have a better life, there are people with degrees, like me, who just need a helping hand, don't act like your loosing money, we all know you couldn't spend that money in five lietimes. are you kidding me? i teach in a public school and have friends who send their kids to private school. should i accuse them of duping me? the whole point of working hard to get to a certain station in life is so that you can give your family the best.

would you send your kids to public school if you didn't have to? are you maybe mad b/c you can't? not to mention the security disruptive issues that might be a little less at a private school. no these are not regular people. if they were they wouldn't have an extremely successful talk show or a desk in the oval office of the white house, they'd be whining on some stupid blog instead of living their lives the way they choose b/c they can. regular people do regular things. extraordinary people make extraordinary things happen for themselves and others. one can only hope they are kind and humble.

I so agree with you about Oprah... She has, in my opinion, sold out to the rich and infamous with her money. Too bad all these celebs don't realize where their money comes from and return it here. Here in the USA we have schools that are failing and we have children here starving to death and cannot get medical care here, and yet they go abroad and to other nations and (for the press) show all they do there. My family personally donate to children's charities here and make donations even though we are not rich. If I had that kind of money, OHH what I could do...Kathy Lee Gifford, (all the celebs make fun of her) had houses built for children who are desperately ill and put the houses in her children's names. I wish we had more of her. Anyway, Jenny, sorry to bend your ear, but I wanted to let you know I agreed with you.

jenny where in the world did you get that from Oprah does not have to give anything away and if her and Obama want to mingle with the elite that's them. And for the safely of my children i would put them in private schooll also. And as far as the schools in Africa she did a survey throughout the Country and aboard and discovered that the kids in Africa only wanted a Education and the kids in the USA wanted name brand this and name brand that you do the math.So i commend her greatly.

Please, I wouldn't send my child to a DC public school and I'm not a millionaire. Obama is NOT a regular person because he's a millionaire. He was a millionaire before he was elected - he wrote a couple of books you know. If they offer a voucher system in the next year or two I'd send my child to a private school in a heartbeat! They do NOT need to sacrifice their kids just to make jealous folks happy! How can you be elitist and have been raised by your grandparents? How can you be elitist having been raised on the Southside of Chicago? Amazing how people tend to twist things! I'm just fine with Obama sending his kids to private school. In fact, I think that people were advising them to go to a public school because they're black. Must have figured it that public school was GOOD enough for them!
