Krispy Kreme giving out free donuts to voters on Election Day
Filed under: Fantastic Freebies
Krispy Kreme wants your vote! Actually, the company doesn't care who you vote for as long as you vote. On November 4, locations around the country will be handing out free star-shaped donuts with red, white and blue sprinkles to anyone with an "I Voted" sticker (we're guessing other proof may be allowed, in case your polling place is out of stickers). The effort is non-partisan, so don't worry about one of the candidates forking over a wad of leftover campaign money in some kind of weird get-out-the-vote effort. This is just about Krispy Kreme trying to get some foot traffic of its own. "We can't guarantee that your candidate of preference will win on November 4, but we can guarantee that your right to voice your choice will be rewarded with a patriotic doughnut that will remind you just how tasty freedom really is," said Krispy Kreme's Chef Ron Rupocinski in a press release. "Krispy Kreme encourages everyone to take part in this historical election and vote."

Guess Reno residents won't be getting Krispy Kreme donuts on Election Day since Krispy Kreme closed their Reno location WITH NO NOTICE - they didn't even notify employees - their employees showed up at work and found a note on the door saying that the location was closed - what a horrible way to treat your employees

Good they closed down wish ours would. They have the worst donuts in the WORLD!! Give me a Dunkin Lemon anyday or any Dunkin that is. Free or not Krispy Kreme are TERRIBLE!! Spend the money and buy a real donut from Dunkin Donuts. And no, I don't work from them. I just remember being a little girl and every Sunday getting two Munchkins after Sunday School.
So, don't go for the free goo go buy a donut that has substance and taste amazing. They have the best Cranberry Orange Muffins.

Rochester MN lost their Krispy Kreme in a similar manner as Renogirl described. So, we get no Krispy Kreme either :( And, I agree with Renogirl that business shouldn't be able to treat employees like that. Those hard working people RELY on the paycheck that their jobs provide. To all of the sudden be without that pay check, wow!

Let's hope that Krispy Kreme can survive and prosper during their current reorganization and limit their expansion to something that does leverage the company. I learned a lot about spending, SAVING and living a "richer" life from the book "How to Become Filthy Rich on Your Current Income" at www.how-to-become-rich.com. If people read books like this one they would be a lot smarter and have more money.

Who cares if they are free. There are 200 calories of which 100 are from fat in their small glazed doughnut...and it is hard to eat just one. I would rather buy my own 100 calorie pack and enjoy that. Besides, you know there are going to be long lines!
I am a personal trainer and love the 100 calorie packs as they are great as far as portion control. I just wish they made them with less sodium. Nabisco makes a lot of good ones http://www.nabiscoworld.com
I also recommend flax which is great for skin, diet and overall health! I recommend that my clients have
low fat yogurt (banana axelrod is fabulous) with flax for breakfast and have found that for me and them the weight has melted off. I LOVE fitflax which can be found at http://www.theflaxdiet.com It is golden roasted flax with
chia that does need to be ground and you can eat straight from the bag. It is low carb/low cal and tastes like peanut butter. I give my clients a code for 15% off which is FIT15
I am also a fan of drinking water. If you don't like water, tote a
water bottle with a lemon juice, splenda water mix and try to take in 48 oz. It helps make you feel full! That code I think expires at the end of the month.

a personal trainer should have a better education than you
a donut from time to time (200 calories or not) is okay...its moderation, diet, and exercise in combination thats healthy
depriving yourself of things you enjoy all the time is no way to live life
i'm 5'9", 130lbs, and i might try for a couple free donuts, lol, life's too short to count calories - get a real job (preaching about the amount of fat in a donut doesn't count unless you teach something positive)
wouldn't a suggestion of a walk during the lunch-hour after that donut have been better? if you actually 'train' people to live healthy lifestyles, shouldn't you actually teach them how to do so? not eating donuts won't keep you healthy - or you could suggest that the people getting the donut, park their car in the furthest row of the parking lot.....every little bit counts, for some people, that would be more exercise than normal! - suggest taking the stairs, whatever! dont' just say something stupid and then talk about the job you suck at

HANNAH; IF YOU ARE A TRAINER... GO BACK AND GET SOME MORE TRAINING. YOU ARE SPREADING MISINFORMATION. SPLENDA IS GOING TO BE PROVEN TO BE THE MOST DANGEROUS OF ALL ARTIFICIAL SWEETNERS. ADDING SPLENDA TO WATER MAKES THE WATER DANGEROUS... ADD SOME CITRUS JUICE OR HIGH ANTIOXYDENT CRANBERRY OR CHERRY OR BLUEBERRY JUICE TO MAKE THE BENIFITS AND FLAVOR OF THE WATER POWERFUL. AVOID THE NOW PROVEN MYTH OF LOW CARB... ALL VEGGIES AND FRUIT ARE CARBS AND WE NEED TO EAT MORE OF THESE. YES FLAX IS A GREAT ADDITION... TAKE A COUPLE OF GROUND TABLESPOONS WITH YOU EACH DAY AND SUPPLEMENT SALADS, LUNCH ENTREES, SOUPS AND SNACKS. IF YOU WANT A GREAT COOKBOOK TRY FIT & FAST FOODS... DELISCIOUS IDEAS AND QUICK. AND THE DOUGNUTS... EAT ONE AND ENJOY IT! AND STOP MAKING EXCUSES THAT YOU 'CAN'T EAT JUST ONE'... YOU CAN IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL... LIFE IS NOT THAT HARD... STOP MAKING EXCUSES!

TOO BAD THEY CHARGE AT LEAST TWICE AS MUCH AS THE AMOUNT YOU GET ON THOSE 100 CAL PACKS. BUY A REGULAR PACK & REPACK INTO SMALL ZIP BAGS.

Geez! Okay, here's th thing: Yes donuts are fattening, Krispy Creme or any other one. But many folks HATE donuts. And alot of folks can't eat Yogurt or don't want to live on Yogurt and water alone. Facts are: you are still going to die no matter what you eat and at that point, weight does NOT matter. If you want a free donut - go ahead. Eat it, live, enjoy. If you don't - sure, tell folks why not and hope they hear you. In this economy it's "profit of the fittest" and corporations are going to lay off hard working folks, close stores, etc. just to keep their bellies full. But both sides of this needs to stop being so righteous and see this only for what it truly is. Nothing.
