Black Friday deals look to amaze this year!
Filed under: Bargains, Shopping, Black Friday
Black Friday, for those of you who have yet to be initiated, is the day after Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and it is marked by huge sales at retailers and lines that stretch around the store. During these sales prices often hit rock bottom and this year, thanks to many of the major retailers eschewing rebates for instant savings, retailers will be setting records for low prices. Dan de Grandpre, CEO of dealnews, is an admitted techie who with his team of experienced bargain hunters has compiled their predictions for Black Friday 2008!There are too many categories and deals to list here but here are a few that tempt me to do something I detest: wait in line!
- Small portable laptops starting at $199.
- 42" and up plasma and LCD TVs starting at $499!
- Blu-ray players from $149.
- Flash drives, routers and more free after rebate.
Normally you won't find WalletPop bloggers pushing a large purchase but it's evident to me that those of us who are frugalists still need to purchase big ticket items from time to time and the thing we love most about it is getting the best price. If a good deal isn't enough to convince you to head out on Black Friday then maybe you should check out Buy Nothing Day which takes place the same day and advocates 24 hours of consumer abstinence!

People buying stuff they will never pay for. It's great, let's get more in debt people. Bankrupsy only takes 7 years off your life. Live it up and decalare, everyone is doing it. I never go shopping Black Friday, these freakes wake up at 3 am to make sure they are there to wait in line for the store to open at 5am, last year I saw people camping out at Best Buy Thanksggiving morning. You people are idiots, I shop online. It's easier, no gas spent and it comes to my house so I don't have to fight in line with you freak shows.

Bitter much? Most of the great deals are only available in stores, not online. Some of us actually have the money to buy stuff and aren't charging it or filing bancrupcy, but thanks for the heads up that you won't be there...makes me want to go even more!

Yes, but you forget to mention how much money shipping and handling is!!! I'd rather drive to one location and walk to different stores - much cheaper than paying shipping and handling to every store. Also, some sales are in store only. And by the way, some of us don't even have credit cards, so we aren't racking up credit card bills. Thanks for your concern though!

To each his own. If you don't want to be a "freak" on Black Friday then stay at home. That will be one less @#%hole to deal with.

WOW! Not everybody that shops on Black Friday doesn't have the money to shop. I personally do go out shopping, and perhaps I am crazy, but, I do enjoy it, it kinda gets me in the x-mas mode. I only buy what I want to buy, and not just what I think I want, and most importantly, I pay for everything. I have never filed bankrupt.
What a bitter fool, I guess you are just jealous that you dont have the drive to do such a thing. But, to be honest, I'm glad that you don't, cause I don't like shopping with people that have the additude such as yours.

JD - You're an idiot... too bad... anymore is only one word...
There are others that are criticizing Tom for his misspellings when they, too, have misspelled words in their posts. If you don't agree with the comment, fine. Picking on someone because they don't spell correctly, or because their grammar usage is incorrect, while at the same time YOU have misspellings and are using grammar incorrectly just makes you look like an idiot, too.

I never read the posts to these articles, but my curiosity got the best of me today. I find it so amusing that someone can find the time to criticize someone or a group of people that choose to sacrifice WHATEVER to get a good deal. So Tom, waiting in line in the early hours of the morning makes a person a freak? Well, what do you call a person, who in their attempt to ridicule and demean others because of a CHOICE, comes off sounding like a bigger idiot than the ones he's criticizing because he can't spell? I think most people would call that a person who needs to keep his opinion to himself, or purchase "Hooked On Phonics." Also, what makes you think they're not paying for their purchases? Is that what YOU do? Have YOU filed for bankruptcy? (Oh, i'm sorry, in your world it's "decalare bankrupsy"). LOL!! Your post is hilarious !!! Keep the laughs coming for others who read these posts. I'm done after this - but it WAS memorable!!

To Tom: Not everyone that shops on Black Friday uses credit cards, some pay cash; like me and there are those that use credit cards and do pay their bill. Your probably just jealous because you can't get any credit. Since you say you shop on line and do not have to use money for gas maybe you should take the extra money and use it for spelling classes

I feel ya on that. I always thought the holidays were for relaxing. But it seems to me people like to get thrown around for a pair of shoes that were $50 bucks, but got marked down to 30. And there worth about a nickle.. There all jackasses
