Dianne, Get a clue. Why would someone sign a mortgage document that they don't understand without an attorney? Why would you be stupid enough to"trust" someone else with your own finances? And lastly, there are no surprise increases in mortgage payments. Read what you sign. Ask if you don't understand... And perhaps lock into a fixed mortgage in a home you can afford rather than thinking that you are getting around the system and getting into a bigger house than you can afford by accepting a variable rate mortgage. When you sign the papers, the "variable rate, interest only, or ARM" should be a big red flag......
Should have joined the rest of us who bought homes we could afford with a 30 year fixed rate mortgage who are getting stiffed because we actually pay our bills and don't get bailed out.

Whatever happened to being satisfied with having what you need?? A regular, 3 or 4 bedroom house with a couple of bathrooms and a yard is more than enough for one person with no wife or kids. Greed is an ugly thing, and always comes back to bite.

And who would buy a house with more bathrooms (16) than bedrooms??? (10) That's stupid.

I totally agree with your sentiment. Show us people with families, working hard, trusting the lender's loan product they got, and then getting hung out to dry by the 'surprise' major payment increase.

The rich who have no sense of financial responsibility soon find themselves back at ground zero. Now they know how the rest of America is hurting. What makes it so stupid of them is that they HAD enough to DO enough to avoid the loss.
