Counting the days at Target
Attention all Target Shoppers: You can get some great deals at the popular discounter, but because of the haphazard way the store marks down its merchandise, there had better be some method to your madness. This Wisebread blog post provides the key to the puzzle. Among other tips, shoppers are advised to understand the daily markdowns; Target marks down different segments of merchandise on different days of the week.
To wit:
- Monday: Electronics, Kids clothing and stationary (Cards, gift wrapping paper, etc.).
- Tuesday: Domestics, women's clothing, pets and Market (food items, etc).
- Wednesday: men's clothing, toys, lawn & garden, health and beauty items.
- Thursday: House wares, lingerie, sporting goods, shoes, music, DVDs, books and luggage.
- Friday: Auto, cosmetics, hardware, and jewelry.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed shopping at the Target that was located in Richmond, Ind. I taught school in Darke County and they used to have super good bargins covering items that I used over and over in my classroom. I taught Kindergaren. Their children's assortment of books was super good and at great prices. Our family used to also buy great amounts of Christmas decorations for our homes there. Too bad they closed it up. Dayton from here is a 50 mile drive each way and that is too far for just shopping. I sure wish the Target Store was still in Richmond or a new one would come to Greenville, Ohio.
Thanks much for allowing me to express my feelings.

Target is a million times better than Walmart. For one thing, their buyers up to date on what is in and hip and Walmart falls very short in that. I wish all the Walmart
stores were Target stores instead. Go Target!!

I work the markdowns at Target and the days you have posted are way off to how we work it in California. It must be different in other parts of the country.

Also, look for prices at Target that end in "4". This usually means that it's the absolute last markdown for the item. Also, look at the endcaps - they're always hiding the best deals there!

What does "endcaps" mean???
As for Walmart...both Target and Walmart here [Lincoln, Nebraska] are clean nice stores, but Wally's definitely has the best prices 99% of the time.

I RUN A LIQUIDATION BUSINESS AND SOMETIMES PURCHASE TARGET CLOSEOUT/CUSTOMER RETURN PALLETS FROM A 3RD PARTY, ANY TIPS ON IF TARGET WILL SELL THOSE PALLETS TO ME DIRECTLY AND CUT THE 3RD PARTY OUT?

I don't work at Target, so I have no idea.
And I meant endcaps as in the shelves at the end of the main aisles.

Is that all you folks do...buy, buy, buy? I used to do exactly that and now I have no room in my drawers or closets. What do you need all that stuff for? Stop buying, hoarding and collecting. BUSH will be sending you $$$$ and hope you'll spend it. Don't! Pay down your credit cards and save the rest. You don't need another t-shirt!

I live 3 miles from a wal mart and super target right next to each other, same lot, i prefer target over wally mart even though target is only 2 or 3 cents more for the items, target is clean, not cluttered and orgganized. wally mart is jammed with crap and tons of trailwer trash shopping there, everyone should switch to target and put wall mart where it belongs, in the tralier park neighborhoods...
