Let me get this straight. "A mutual fund is an investment company that sells its shares and invests the proceeds into a portfolio of securities". Doesn't make sense. Guess I had that one wrong all these years. I thought a Mutual Fund purchased shares (generally through institutions), creates a portfolio of them, then markets the Fund to the general public whereby they exist on fees.

Excellent advice. I discovered one of the best books you'll ever find about finance, "How to Become Filthy Rich on Your Current Income" at www.how-to-become-rich.com. If people read books like this one they would discover they could live better and wealthier.
