I used to love the java chip frappuccino at Starbuck's. But even the smallest one was at least $3. Then a friend told me about the iced coffee at McDonald's. I tried the vanilla one and have been hooked ever since. The medium is over a dollar less than the small drink at Starbuck's and it tastes BETTER. I'd been drinking the iced coffee for a few months, then decided to give Starbuck's a try again and was very disappointed. It tasted watered down and not like a coffee drink at all. I don't think Starbuck's will be around a lot longer. You have the fast food chains like McDonald's and Burger King (in particular) that have better and cheaper iced coffee drinks.

Our grandparents had gas and sugar rations. I think we can handle not going to starbucks.

Just from a Seattlelite, Starbucks is overrated, but it has become part of our local economy and elsewhere. If you get rid of the companies you also get rid of the jobs, and we all know what that means. So instead of complaining about Starbucks think about how you would feel if the company you worked for and your local economy relied on was no longer there. A coffee drink alone is not expensive, a cup of brew is just as cheap as anywhere else, the latte's and blended drinks that have milk and other adde ingredients are what cost more. So next time you go to the grocery store look at milk prices and add cost of cups and lids and remember Starbucks is still trying to make a profit. And also the Starbucks isone of the very few companies that offer full health benefits to part time employees. And when I go there I always grab a bag of free old coffee grounds to put into my garden for my veggies. Also one of the very few companies reusing there waste. Think about what is really impacting o

FOURbucks is the biggest rip off ever. I see long lines of people waiting 10 minutes to get a cup of overpriced, watered down coffee each morning. Meanwhile, in that time you could have brewed yourself a POT at home for a fraction of the price all without polluting our air and clogging our streets to get there. I just have never understood the fascination with that place. This new scam is no savings and it's only for a month anyway. RobinDawn5... Each time you get the urge for Starbucks, why don't you put that $5 into a college fund for your kids! Or "surprise" them with a real meal at your own kitchen table. You probably stop at McDondalds on the way home from Starbucks and call that a "treat", too.

Thanks OogieBob. I think I just might do that! I predict that all the Starbucks will be gone by 12/31/09. Out of the 4 or 5 cups of coffee I have bought there, I have never had a decent cup of coffee from that place. I just don't get it.

Celebrate! Take the money you could have wasted at Starbucks and go buy yourself a birthday cake! Happy Day!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

RobinDawn5: How exactly do you gamble or "buy junk at the store" at home? Do you bet yourself that you can't do something and then, if you lose, put your cash in the paper shredder? And wouldn't it be MORE expensive to open a Wal-Mart or Target inside your house?

Mychumpipe 02:08:34 PM Aug 05 2008Report This!how about is starBUCKS! instead of using their plastic cups gives a discount to the people who bring their own travel cup instead???? that way we do two things stop global warming and save money.......They do

Are you kidding me,these prices are still way to high even at half the price. This company has been a rip off from day one,I have never even tried the coffee and never will. Please do us all a favor and go out of business, greedy clowns.
