It's sad to think that the original Carvel's in Hartsdale has closed. All of the Carvel stores here in Rochester closed several years ago. I miss them alot. If you're an east coast baby boomer like me, you remember how much fun it was to pay a visit to the local Carvel store. We can still get Carvel ice cream cakes at Wegman's supermarkets but it's just doesn't seem the same anymore.

Wow! We have some real ignorant mofo's who subscribe to AOL, don't we?I'm from Westchester and I am pretty sad that Greenburgh (the municipality who oversees Hartsdale) did not do anything to step in and help Faghihi out. The architecture of the store has been well maintained and perserved by Faghihi through out the years. Real sad. In fact Central Ave (which is major shopping district in Westchester Co.) looks like a ghost town in some sections. So many different stores and restaurants have went out of business these past two years.

Stupid is as Stupid does. What in the world does Obama have to do with a 70 year old ice cream store closing??? The economy sucks because of GEORGE W. BUSH, Twice elected Republican. Obama has nothing to do with it. We can only hope whichever candidate is elected will choose to help the American people and turn the economy around rather that give more to the already rich.

Mr. Faghihi and his staff were very well liked and part of a beloved community institution. Clearly, neither of you will ever do anything to deserve the kind of praise and good thoughts afforded to Mr. Faghihi.
