The airlines should lower the mileage awards. And they could do so without additional cost to themselves as well. THEY DO NOT LET YOU USE THEM ANYWAY!!

They may still be losing money, but i'll bet their CEOS are getting rich.

Gawd, you people are such whinners! I say just do away with a loyalty program and make people pay for all tickets. And pay for the service you receive. You want food, buy it. (last time I looked at a plane, the words DENNY was not painted on the side) You want a blanket, bring one. You want a seat in first class, PAY FOR IT!!!!

Tampafla123 09:40:45 AM Aug 11 2008

the airlines hv been crapping on the customers for years thats the reason they dont want foriegn airlines in here cause they would wipe up the floor- the service on for airlines is far superior they treat customers like customers instead of garbage

Tampafla123 09:38:26 AM Aug 11 2008

well they dont want to do away with the program they just want to discourage you using it nwa is the worst even if u go out 6 months on a flight were they hvent sold a sing seat- they will say there are no ff seats available unless u want to pay double those bums at nwa should hv been fined for all the changes they made in the programswith regard to the fuel situation the goddam pilot sb the one deciding how much fuel is carried not some bean counter sitting safely in his office if his fam was on the flight would he say oh go ahead u have enough fuel this crap will end once there is a crash

Bermudadreamz 09:13:45 AM Aug 11 2008

flying with less fuel? That's gambling with peoples lives, if they openly admit that, what are the really bad things they will keep hushed!

No need for any airline loyalty anymore as the airlines show no loyalty to their F/F passengers by changing the rules at will and against their best paying passengers. If they are losing money, then I say go out of business instead of nickel and diming every cent, that has no chance of a repeal when fuel costs go down. Why is it airlines don't just pass all the cost along on the ticket price? Because they will never give up their charges for snacks, luggage check in fees, increased pet fees, soft drinks and water, Free ticket charges on F/F bookings and extra baggage. Those charges will become permanent, no matter how low jet fuel goes. I believe their will be great opportunity for some new competition in the near future as the nickel dime charging legacy carriers say bye - bye one at a time. Forget loyalty, go with low price!
