A jar, sugarbowl (I remember MAMA) or any container should be used as your personal piggy bank. Who needs a cutsy reminder of the need to save. You're either a saver or you lack that discipline - put that $9.99, down from $24, in your homestyle container and you're that much ahead. Why should the seller of the golden nest egg get to save your money.

I use a small bank that I got from my dad for saving change. For saving dollar bills (another habit that I have), I use a little pot that my sister made. Do these items have anything to do with my saving? Not really. Do they work for me? Yes.
I guess my perspective is that we should use anything that works. If its a mason jar, great; if a golden egg does it, outstanding!
