Dear Ken and Daria,
I have a little bit of money left over at the end of each month. What's the smartest way for me to put it to work? Should I invest? Pay off debt? Something else?
Glen

Hi I can’t seem to overcome a bad decision I made in regard to selling my company’s stock a few years ago. I have worked for CHRobinson (CHRW) for 25 years and over my career I have been part of the stock purchase program. When we went public in 2000 I made several million dollars. So I quickly contacted a financial consultant. He advised me to sell off a large portion of my stock to diversify, which I did. Hindsight as I look back now, my portfolio would have been worth additional 5 million based on today’s market and CHR stock price. My wife is fine with the decision we made reminding me of the companies that have fallen, most recently Bear Sterns. However several of my friends that worked as long as I didn’t sell their stock, and whenever I see them I always change the subject about money. I knew how solid CHR is, and we still have the potential for great growth. My regret is so intense I have been hospitalized for major depression twice, when I think of what I could have done with another 5million for my family, it makes me sick to my stomach. I’m pissed at my financial adviser, and he knows it. But still maintains we did the right thing.
